BGMI 4.2 Security Update: Flora Wings Glitch Patched & 2 Million Bans

Introduction: The Ban Pan Strikes Back

Nothing ruins a game faster than a hacker flying in the sky or shooting you through walls. When the 4.2 Primewood Update launched last week, it was chaos. There was a glitch with the new "Flora Wings" item that allowed people to fly infinitely.

Thankfully, Krafton acted fast. A new security patch was deployed silently yesterday, and the results are massive. Let's discuss what has been fixed and what can get you banned.

1. The "Flora Wings" Infinite Fly Glitch

The Exploit: Players found a way to cancel the animation of the wings, which reset the cooldown. This allowed them to stay in the air forever and shoot down like an AC-130 gunship.

The Fix: The developers have added a "Server-Side Check". Now, if you stay in the air for more than 5 seconds without touching the ground, the server forces you down. You will take fall damage too.

Result: The skies of Erangel are safe again.

2. The "Tree of Life" Wall Hack Fix

The new giant trees had a texture bug. Hackers using "No Grass" or "Texture Removal" configs could see right through the tree trunks.

Update: The mesh files of the trees have been encrypted in the 4.2 version. If you delete the tree texture file, the game will now crash immediately instead of letting you play. This is a brilliant move by the anti-cheat team.

3. Merit System Overhaul

The Merit system is now stricter.

Teaming: If you are caught teaming up with enemies (doing "Hello Hello" on All Mic and not killing each other), the AI detection will lower your merit by 60 points instantly.

Consequence: You cannot play Ranked matches if your merit is below 80.

4. Third-Party GFX Tools Warning

I know many of you use GFX tools to get "iPad View" or "No Grass".

Current Status: The 4.2 Update scans the Android/Data folder more aggressively.

Safe Zone: Changing "UserCustom.ini" manually (like we teach in our optimization guides) is still relatively safe because it uses official commands.

Danger Zone: Using APK apps that inject code while the game is running will lead to a 10 Year Ban.

Conclusion

Krafton is taking security seriously this year. Don't risk your main account for a few cheap tricks. If you see a hacker, use the In-Game Report button. Surprisingly, it is actually working this season—I received 3 "Ban Confirmations" in my mail yesterday!
